You don't often come across resources on the world of business as comprehensive as this. You won't just learn about today and tomorrow's markets and business practices in Business Model Validation; you'll also take away valuable lessons from industries you never imagined you could learn from. And that ability to present such powerful concepts and ideas at new angles is the brilliance behind Wanetick's writings and insights.

What a Find!
By Thomas Easton
Business Model Validation is at least as, if not more, enjoyable to read as any of the Malcolm Gladwell or Nico Nassim Taleb books. But you really can’t make money from reading most popular business books. However, because Business Model Validation gets deep into the nitty-gritty of assessing business models, the reader can make much better business and investment decisions.
For instance, readers will learn how mandatory retirement age policies ratchet up the risk profiles of companies as well as how initiatives taken by companies to increase morale force employees to become more myopic. There was great insight into how reverse stock splits destroy enterprise value as well as why a company’s extended receivables collections can actually be a signal of a company’s strength. The example given about a franchisor and its franchisees being overly aligned was really interesting.

Business Model Validation is full of great insights. For example, in the chapter about on-demand taxis (dealing with companies such as Uber and Lyft), Wanetick discusses how the balkanization of San Francisco’s public transportation system is a boon to companies like Uber and Lyft but is not a replicable advantage in other cities. The chapter on analog and antilog analysis was fascinating. I loved the analysis dealing with the synergies of the cement and bridal industries. A fantastic book filled with practical insights unavailable anywhere else.
